Taft High School is situated in the area and offers public education to the entire community.
The Village of Norwood Park was constructed to resemble a park-like residential suburban area, comprising of many wide streets, large lots, and elegant family homes. The town features a curvilinear street pattern. On Memorial Day, a parade runs through the town every year. This parade has been Norwood Park’s tradition since 1922, which the town folks have kept alive for more than 90 years. Norwood Parks has said to influence the production of the original Grease musical as the creator and writer Jim Jacobs went to Taft High School. The high school was also used as a backdrop for the musical.
The temperature spiked up to 75 degrees during the summer, especially in July. Residents must have well-functioning air-conditioning systems to withstand the heat. The temperature drops during winter seasons and remains cold from November till the middle of February. Installing heat pumps is necessary if residents want to stay warm. Town folks can use the chilly weather outside to enjoy winter activities such as skiing.
